May SOTM Blog Hop - Just Sayin'

Welcome to the May SOTM Blog Hop featuring the new Just Sayin' stamp set!  If you've come here from Kathy's Blog you are on the right track. This hop is one big circle so if you keep going you'll come back here but if you get lost along the way, the list of all participating bloggers can be found HERE.

Today I'm sharing a pretty little birthday card I made for my son to give to a friend at her party this weekend.  I mixed the Just Sayin' stamp set with some stamps from our Your Own Kind of Wonderful set and Blossom papers to create a fun bright birthday card perfect for a 13 year old girl!

The black outline butterflies were stamped with Memento Ink then colored in with our Shinhan Markers and topped with Liquid Glass to make them pop. Look at that gorgeous shine!

You can get the May SOTM through the end of the month for just $5 with any $50 purchase.  To get your own set or any of the other materials used to make this card, visit my shopping site at:

Use Your Stash Blog Hop - All that Glitters!

Welcome to April's Use Your Stash Blog Hop - All that Glitters!  If you came from Sheila's Blog you are on the right track!

I decided to make a welcome home sign for my daughter who is almost done with her first year of college at Washington State University!  She'll be home in just 18 more days and I couldn't be more happy or excited to have her back for the summer!
WSU's colors are crimson and gray so I used those for the glitter pieces and added some of our patterned Paper Fundamentals (Adventure and Whimsy) for the balloons.  The red paper is from another manufacturer but the rest is CTMH Glitter paper.
Plain black cardstock seemed a little too bland and a full sheet of glitter paper was too much but strips of .5" and .25" of Black Glitter paper alternating in the background gave interest and grounding without overwhelming.  Love it!

I keep every little scrap of my glitter paper because sometimes small jagged pieces work great for bits of backing glitter like I used on the balloons here.  The string is some adorable silver baker's twine I picked up a while ago.  It frays like crazy but I love the metallic look!
Here is a side angle so you can see some of the dimension.  I have a deep set 12x12 scrapbook frame I use for my 3-D home decor projects.  I keep my projects in an album and pull out the theme or holiday sample I want to use and then pop it into the same frame.

I used all CTMH cartridge cuts for this piece - mostly Art Philosophy and Artbooking.  Here is the Explore Design Space file if you are interested in cutting one of these cuties for yourself!

Now hop on over to Janet's Blog and see what glittery creation she has made to share today!

What came in my $150 Grab Bag - Quick video!

I made a quick video showing my $150 Grab Bag divided up between retired and current product to give you an idea of the proportions of each in the big box.  I'm happy with what I received - lots of fun products and several current items that were on my list to buy!

If you are receiving this via e-mail you'll need to click out to my blog by hitting the highlighted blue title at the top in order to play the video.

Right after I made the $35 Grab Bag video I cleared out my craft room (that was a HUGE job) so I could build and install a new huge Ikea Kallax wall storage system.  I'm still in the process of rearranging everything and pulling it all back into my craft room from my daughter's room where I stashed it.  She is home for the summer from WSU in 21 days so I have my deadline to get everything put away!  I think I might need to purge a bit too - 7+ years as a consultant and I have an enormous stash!  Wish me luck in getting everything back in on time!

Did you like my video?  It's the very first time I've been brave enough to tape myself too - LOL!  Like that messy craft room?  My hubby just bought me a big Ikea storage wall that we'll be putting up to try and tame the mess!
