Taking time to grieve...

I'll be taking some time off from blogging for the next few weeks as I grieve for the loss of my father.  I spent last week caring for him in the last few days of his life and helped him through his last few hours.  It was one of the most difficult things I have ever done and my heart and head are still trying to process and deal with the emotions.

One of the things that has always helped me is working on art so I will be back in my craft room soon and posting again.  I'm just not ready yet to move to that stage of healing.  Thank you for understanding my friends. May you find peace and joy in this holiday season and hold those you love close to your heart.

Paige, I am deeply sorry for the loss of your father. What a tremendous blessing you were given to be with your father through his final hours. I too was my father's care taker in the last year of his life and while I miss him everyday, I'm glad I got to be there. I knew how much of a blessing it was when he slipped away to the arms of our Lord. It was the most peaceful and beautiful way to leave this world and I hope that I am as lucky. He was surrounded by his family as we said a final rosary and good byes as he slipped away. I pray for a quick healing of you and your family.

Oh Paige, I am so terribly sorry to hear of your loss! As much as I love to see your beautiful artwork creations, take all the time you need to grieve and recover in your own time. As hard as this might be for you right now at the holidays with your father's passing, but treasure those precious memories you have of the last few weeks and days you had with him. I know some of those memories might be hard because of caring for him, but at least you were with him, that time cannot be replaced! I was 1,300 miles away from my dad when he passed, he was in hospice care so we knew it was coming, but I got word of it via phone while standing in line at Walmart. I still don't know how I was able to stay composed & check out with my youngest son with me, but I did. {Hugs} & blessings to you & I'm praying for you & your family also!

I'm so sorry to hear this. I can't imagine how difficult that is. I pray you find comfort in your memories of him. In our community, we have a Hospice program that helps with grieving and losses. They have helped me a couple of times, and because they are non-profit, their counseling is free. I found that talking about it, helped me the most. *Hugs* Thinking of you.
